New Passport Requirements
U.S. citizens entering Canada and Mexico by air or sea are now required by law to have a passport and by 2008, the passport requirement extends to include border crossings by land. Critics are worried about the law's impact on cross-border commerce and relations.
A public debate toward the new policy has led the U.S. government to rethink its stand on the issue. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced it is considering the issuance of a new cross-border ID, which would allow citizens of Canada, Mexico and the U.S. the same access enjoyed today, but without the expense and time required to secure a passport.

Transportation Security Administration New Rules
The Transporation Security Administration (TSA) announced a change regarding its recent carry-on policy banning liquids and gels in the aircraft cabin. Effective immediately, the following will be allowed in carry-on luggage: travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, zip-top bag; and and other items purchased in the secure boarding area. The TSA kindly provides a visual aid of a zip-top bag and toiletries.
